Description
In 1970, my father recognised that Red Hill Farm was unique in its beauty and connection with the earth. His love of nature, and quest for sustaining the environment led him to build an apiary on the farm. For many years during the 1970’s and 1980’s his bees created honey that won first prizes year after year at the Red Hill Show. We have now restored both his vision and apiary and are committed to ensuring that Red Hill Farm Honey is a continuing legacy for future generations of those that understand the importance of sustainable farming, respect for the land as current custodians and the love of natural, pure honey.
The honey is 100% pure and is derived from the local flora in the Red Hill South hinterland. Bees feed predominantly on Callistemon (Bottle brush), Eucalyptus flowers, Leptospermum (tea tree), Lavendula (lavender) and other seasonal flowering plants to give the honey a flavour that is rich and full of goodness. The honey is available in jars for sale – with the original bee logo from the 1970’s!
